Advice and project execution are closely related. Advice concerns consultancy on a specific issue in the organisation, where a solution by means of quantitative methods can be indicated. These are usually assignments of shorter duration, up to one month at most, without the immediate need for a working model or a decision support system to be delivered.
The end product is a report with recommendations about the optimal solution direction for the problem being investigated and a consideration of the alternatives.
During the advisory process employees in the organisation are consulted, but in principle they do not cooperate in a project construction.
A consultancy assignment can be followed by a project assignment in which the proposed approach, or one of the alternatives, is executed and implemented.
